I received this book in April unexpectedly from my mom’s friend who has literally known me since birth. Although I was really honored that she took the time to write me and to send me a book, I was a frightened by its 932-page length, so much so that it took me more than four months to pick it up. Once I started reading it I was unable to put it down, finishing it in under a week. It is based on a true story-names, places, dates, etc. changed for obvious reasons -recounting the author’s plight from incarcerated armed robber in Australia across the world to India and his experiences there living amongst the poor, working for the mob, and discovering himself all along the way. It might be the best book I have ever read. MUST READ (sent by Sheila Cohen)
