“In The Garden of Beasts” by Erik Larson is a true story of U. S. Ambassador Dodd’s time before and during the Nazi takeover of Germany. It truly is a terrific story — an insight in to what life in Germany was like as Hitler arrived and how Hitler was perceived by the German citizens and the foreign dignitaries’ opinions and insight of the time. How wrong so many people were about Hitler…Dodd was not one of them. MUST READ
