Back in my day…

We Just Called It Tuesday

Kids used to bike to school without helmets, carry metal lunchboxes like battering rams, and survive eight-hour days without a snack, a phone, or a hydration plan. No tracking apps. No gluten-free anything. Just a teacher, a bell, and consequences.

Now the same generation that rode without seatbelts is being told today’s youth can’t function without mood-lit classrooms, affirmation check-ins, and backup snacks in case the first snacks get lonely. Comfort has become currency, and challenge is treated like trauma. That’s not growth—it’s drift.

The culture that once built thick skin is now manufacturing bubble wrap. But life doesn’t come with bumpers. And sooner or later, the world stops handing out grace periods. So yes—bring back toughness. Bring back standards. Bring back Tuesdays.
