Discipline creates cohesion. Expression without limits creates distraction. When teams become collections of individuals, performance is no longer the focus—identity is.
Major League dugouts now resemble fashion runways more than war rooms. Every arm sleeve, sock, and cleat screams personal branding while the scoreboard silently watches. Managers don’t coach rosters anymore—they babysit palettes. “Team spirit” has become “team spectacle,” and the results show. Fundamentals are collapsing, respect for the game is dissolving, and uniformity—a symbol of shared mission—is now treated like oppression.
This isn’t style evolution. It’s structure decay. Without a reset in values, the culture that once built dynasties will drown in self-expression.
